Pat Smith is the former CEO of the IFA and is renowned for his success in representing and negotiating on behalf of Irish farmers. He established IFA Telecom and IFA Power on behalf of the organisation’s Members, securing unbeatable deals and services for the farming community.
Pat is Managing Director of Local Power Ltd. and will lead up all representations and negotiations on behalf of community and membership-based organisations. Pat has carefully chosen his business partners in Local Power with the aim of ensuring our promises are always delivered on! He also aims to ensure that those businesses, communities and organisations he represents get nothing but the very best deals possible.

Niall Austin
Sales and Marketing
Niall Austin has over 30 years experience in marketing, and leads up Local Power’s Sales and Marketing team. Niall has a life long interest in renewable energy technologies, and sees the need for homes, businesses and communities to play their part in helping the world deal with the many challenges presented by climate change.

Pearse McHenry
Innovation and Implementation
Pearse McHenry leads our Innovation and Implementation team, and is also Managing Director of Solar Power ROI. With over 10 years experience in constructing and managing community / business scale renewable projects in Ireland and the U.K., he believes in excellence. His construction team in turn are all master craftsmen who take pride in their installations – big or small!
John McNeill
Design and Procurement
John McNeill heads up the Design and Procurement department, with his role being to ensure that our system’s design and output is professionally created and maintained for maximum customer benefit, and with a flow of reliable information always available. John also helps to get ESB and planning approvals in place for our customers.
